Are you ready to bounce back?

By Karen Cureton on 25th June 2020

Since my last blog about coping with the stresses of lockdown, things have started to ease up a little. Some of the kids are back at school, many non-essential shops have reopened and the wheels of our economy are slowly starting to turn again. It’ll take a while to get back to ‘full steam ahead’ of course, but the ever-changing business world we live in is evolving once again (did it ever stop?!)

So, my question to you this month is: ‘Are you ready for the new normal?’ Because whatever the new normal ends up looking like in the long term, one thing we can be sure of right now is that most face to face business meetings and events are still a no-no. That means our online communications are more important than they’ve ever been – particularly those that enable us to reach out and connect with new prospects and new audiences.

Social media naturally has a huge part to play here. And if you’re hoping to make the most of the massive opportunities that are out there in cyberspace…you’re gonna need a plan! I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue in the face: your social media activities don’t stand a realistic chance of working unless you have a plan. What’s more, if you think you can simply wheel out your 2019 social media strategy, plug it in and press ‘Play,’ you’re barking up the wrong tree.

The new business landscape we’ve entering needs a revised approach to all your marketing activities and social media is no exception. As we re-adapt to this new normal, it’s essential to take a creative approach and show how agile our businesses really are. Social media offers endless opportunities for us to showcase not just that we’re surviving in the face of the pandemic, but we’re actually capable of thriving because we’ve re-adapted successfully.

(On a side note here, can I just ask if you’ve heard of the Great British Bounce Back? It’s a free initiative that’s helping small businesses recover and reboot from Covid-19. You simply sign up and provide some details, and they’ll give you a profile on their website as well as materials you can use on social media to show you’re Bouncing Back. Why not take a look?)

Anyway, back to your social media strategy! If you had a ‘pre-lockdown’ plan that needs to pivot, or if you’ve never had a plan at all and don’t know where to start, I can help. During July, I’m offering Social Media Reviews at a special rate on selected dates, to help you get your digital marketing ducks in a row and put a robust plan in place.

We’ll look at how your current social media activities are performing and what needs to change so you can get the results you want. That might mean targeting new audiences, using different platforms, changing your content creation strategy, updating your key messages…or all of the above!

My overall aim will be to help you gain clarity, focus and direction for your social media activities going forward. You’ll come away with some great ideas for what you need to keep doing, stop doing and start doing to reach your target audience, generate warm leads and turn more of your followers into paying customers.

Book your Social Media Review today

To book your review at my special rate of only £195 for a two hour planning session (only on selected dates) click here to see the dates and book your slot in July? Together, we’ll come up with an amazing plan that will help your business smash it on social media and come through lockdown smiling!
