How do you prefer to learn?

By Karen Cureton on 29th October 2020

That’s a question I asked myself 4 years ago before I started creating the online programme that’s now called Social Media for Grown Ups. Rather than just going full steam ahead and putting a course together that I thought would work, I spent some time researching how different people like to learn. And the results were: in lots of different ways!

Having said that, it wasn’t my aim to simply come up with a social media training programme that follows a ‘One size fits all’ ethos. Instead, I wanted to offer something with lots of options – a kind of training menu you can pick and choose from, whilst making sure you cover the full syllabus and gain maximum benefit and takeaways from the course.

And that’s the secret of success for Social Media for Grown Ups. It’s not just online learning that you do in your own time, and it’s not just offline training that’s tailored to your individual needs. It’s the best of both worlds! And what’s more, by choosing to sign up and access this unique combination of learning and support, you’ll spend less cash than if you were to buy certain elements on a standalone basis.

“Working with Karen has been a breeze. She listened well to what I wanted to achieve from my campaigns and objectives, and ensured the outcomes were achieved. She is honest, open and clear in her communications and passionate about what she does.”

So what exactly is Social Media for Grown Ups?

Well, the clue’s in the name. From conversations I’ve had with many business owners over the years, I’ve come across one common theme time and again: that many people feel social media is ‘for the kids’ and not something that could help their business. However, they’ve then watched from the sidelines as their competitors started using the various platforms successfully – and decided they want a piece of the action!

“I really value my sessions with Karen. I’m not too old for social media but I’m not in my 20s! Getting a grip with Linked In was easy with Karen as she explains it in simple terms and gives plenty of examples that inspire you. I would thoroughly recommend Karen, she never loses her cool and makes you feel like any questions is acceptable. My confidence has increased two-fold.”

Social Media for Grown Ups is designed to help business owners with little or no experience of using social media for commercial purposes build a strategy for online success. It’s a 12 month programme that covers the four most popular platforms for business users: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Facebook.

You’ll learn how to create a strategy and plan designed to help you achieve your goals, so you can grow your following on your chosen platforms (you don’t need to use all four – it’s all about where your target audience hangs out), and ultimately convert likers, connections and followers into paying customers.

In addition, you’ll find out how to monitor and measure your results so you can keep tweaking your strategy as you go along. And, of course, we’ll unlock the mysteries of creating and scheduling high quality, targeted content that will increase your engagement levels (for free!). Finally, I’ll pass on some tips and tricks for time management, so you don’t spend too many hours away from the day job.

How you’ll learn

As I’ve already said, the beauty of Social Media for Grown Ups lies in the variety of learning methods you can access. On top of the innovative online programme that forms the core of the training, you’ll also benefit from:

  • Monthly support calls where we’ll discuss your unique challenges around social media and you can access ongoing support and guidance
  • Four live half day training events over the 12 months (face to face or online) where you’ll get to meet and interact with your fellow delegates in person
  • Access to a closed Facebook Group where you can ask me questions, bounce ideas off and share experiences with your peers
  • Half price one to one training (maximum of 2 sessions) with me, on specific areas where you’d like extra support.

Karen has the knack of getting her audience’s attention; the workshops are interactive, thorough and fun! We have all taken a great deal from these sessions – thank you Karen, you really are a Social Media Ninja!
