As we wrap up 2020, I think we’d all agree that this year has been one we’d never like to repeat! But there are brighter times ahead – at the time of writing, the Covid-19 vaccine has just started rolling out to the most vulnerable age groups, and many of us are looking forward to a well-earned break over Christmas and New Year.
Personally, whilst I can’t pretend 2020 has all been great for me, I’m still counting my blessings. I feel particularly lucky that, unlike many business owners, I’ve kept most of my pre-Covid clients on board throughout the year and have also picked up some new ones. Nevertheless, you won’t be surprised to hear that I’m not planning to rest on my laurels in 2021! I’ve already started planning my activities for the New Year, and I’m genuinely excited about what the next few months have in store.
My biggest plans for the first quarter are all about relaunching Social Media for Grown Ups, my popular 12 month programme for business owners who’d like to give their online presence a boost. I can’t believe that in January, I’ll have been running this programme for 4 years! Time really does fly. During that time, I’ve helped lots of people get some great results for their businesses, even those who started the course as self-confessed ‘social media-phobes!’
Since launching Social Media for Grown Ups back in 2017, I’ve constantly kept things under review, tweaking and updating the programme in response to client feedback and changes in the digital marketing landscape. However, I’ve now decided the time is right for a serious revamp. That’s why I’ll be revisiting the course from top to bottom over the coming weeks – refining, improving and enhancing the content, and re-recording the video modules from scratch. It’s all about giving each and every delegate maximum value and a fantastic return on their investment.
So, that’s my main job for kickstarting Quarter 1 sorted! I hope you have similar plans in place for your own business, or if not, are hoping to use some of the downtime over the festive period to plan ahead for the New Year. That might be having a new website built, ramping up your networking activities, or pivoting your business offering to make use of a new (or rediscovered) skill set.
Whilst we may not want to spend too much time reflecting on 2020, there’s bound to be something we can all learn from the events of the past year. And now’s the time to put our plans in place so we take these learnings forward and make 2021 a bigger, better and stronger one for all our businesses. So let’s get 2020 done and dusted, and focus on looking forward.
Spoiler alert – year end special offer coming up!
It might be ‘out with the old and in with the new’ for Social Media for Grown Ups, but there’s plenty of life in the old dog yet. Before I launch the new programme, I’m planning to offer entry to the previous format at a very special bargain price.
