Don’t be an April Fool with your social media!

I can’t believe it’s been just over a year since the first lockdown started. So much has happened to us all (hopefully some good stuff as well as the less good) and I firmly believe we’ve all learned something valuable from the experience.

As we slowly emerge from our third lockdown, and with the new financial year just about to start, now’s the time to reflect and acknowledge what we’ve been through – and what we’ve achieved – both personally and with our businesses.

For lots of people I know, putting more time and effort into boosting their online presence is a big priority for 2021. If this sounds familiar, have your measured your results from social media so far this year yet? The end of Quarter 1 is the perfect time to take stock of what’s working well and what needs a tweak or two, so you get the results you want from your plan.

Speaking of plans, if you haven’t got around to putting a social media strategy in place, all is not lost. As I’ve said many times before, there’s no point dipping in and out of social media without a strategy and plan in place – your activities simply won’t have the right impact and you’ll reap little or no reward. And that’s where my Social Media Strategy sessions come in.

The aim of these 2 hour meetings is simply to create a roadmap for your social media activities, so you have the right foundations to build on with success. Together, we’ll work through your key business objectives and where social media fits in, bearing your target audience(s) in mind. We’ll also talk about your USPs – what makes you stand out from your competitors – and review your current online and offline marketing activities.

Next, we’ll talk about the kinds of content you should be producing and the themes that will interest and engage your audience, before looking at how you currently measure your social media marketing and how this needs to change going forward. Finally, we’ll look at creating a 6 month plan for your social media, which I’ll write up in detail and send to you after the session.

All this in just 2 hours! It really is a fantastic springboard to getting your social media ducks in a row, so you’re primed and ready for action. You’ll leave the meeting with a clear focus and direction for where you want to go with your online marketing – so there’ll be no more random posting, no more bashing away at the wrong platforms and no more long radio silences!

How Social Media Strategy sessions work

Usually, these sessions would take place in person, but Covid-19 has changed all that!
