Giving your social media a summer holiday this year?

As someone who works with lots of business owners who are also parents, July and August can be relatively quiet months for me. With the kids off school and needing to be entertained and taxied around – not to mention the excitement of planning for and going on holiday – it’s hardly surprising that your social media activities might grind to a halt.

The same tends to happen at Easter and Christmas, with the inevitable result that your online presence will lose traction. You’ll then find yourself scrabbling to play catch-up and regain lost ground once normality resumes and the kids are safely back at school. There’s a big risk, however, that you might find it hard or even impossible to do so. Your followers could have gone elsewhere as you’ve not given them the content they crave, or your competitors may have taken advantage of your social media hiatus to steal them away.

Don’t let this happen to you! After months of implementing your (hopefully) water-tight social media strategy, it would be a terrible shame to let everything slide for the sake of a few weeks’ inactivity. Instead, make sure you keep the momentum going during the holidays.

As well as protecting your online presence, you could actually find yourself extending your reach to new audiences. After all, if other businesses are taking a break from social media, it’ll be much easier for your voice to heard – so make the most of this golden opportunity.

And if, like me, you find work a little quieter over the summer, take some time to revisit and evaluate your social media strategy. How have the first six months of 2019 panned out for you? Are you where you want to be in terms of follower numbers, interactions and engagements, and converting leads and prospects into paying customers? If everything is on track, that’s great. If not, I have a very special offer that might just be of interest…
