Top Tools For Managing Social Media

As 2019 draws to a close, it’s time to review what your social media accounts have achieved for you during the year. Have you got the results you wanted? Have you seen a good return on investment for the time and resources you’ve put in? And have you done the best you can to promote yourself online because, after all, your social media accounts are the ‘shop window’ for your business?

If the answers to these questions aren’t what they should be, don’t worry. I appreciate that it can be hard to find the time (or the motivation!) to make the most of what social media has to offer. Luckily, there are some fantastic management tools out there that offer some genuine shortcuts to success. So why not give your online presence a boost in 2020 with your choice from my top 5 favourites?

Postcron

This is my go-to app for scheduling posts on Facebook and LinkedIn. You can use it with Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, too. Features include the Bulk Uploader, which lets you schedule up to 1,000 pins, posts or Tweets in one go from an Excel spreadsheet or Google Sheet, and an automated system for watermarking images with your company logo.

Prices start from $8 per month for a Personal Plan, which lets you manage up to 8 Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest accounts, and 2 Instagram accounts. You can try the service for free for 7 days, to see if it’s a good fit with your social media strategy.

Socialjukebox

This is a great tool for scheduling Twitter posts if you’re short on time. You simply upload the content you want to post, choose when you want it to go out and ‘turn on’ the jukebox. Your posts will then appear automatically in a random order. When all your content has been posted, your jukebox will simply start again – just like a real one!

It’s a very flexible service with options to set different posting schedules for each day of the week and selected targeted posts to go out at pre-defined frequencies. To show you how it works, you can sign up for a 14 day free trial which gives you access to up to 10 jukeboxes, 5,000 stored Tweets and 50 targeted posts.

Tweetdeck

This is one of the original, and some might say best, Twitter management tools. It’s perfect for businesses with multiple Twitter accounts as you can easily upload and schedule posts from any or all of them at the same time. You can also like and follow from multiple accounts or, like me, use it to manage your Twitter contact lists.

The handy teams feature means you can give other people access to your company Twitter account without having to share the password (provided they have their own accounts). And best of all, it’s completely free.

Followmeter

This is a useful tool that helps you manage your Instagram account by showing you who’s following you, who’s unfollowed you and who you’ve followed that isn’t following you back. Other features include metrics on total and average likes and comments, and details of your most and least liked images and videos.

Followmeter is a phone / tablet-based app with versions for Apple and Android operating systems. The basic package is free, but you can choose to upgrade your service by purchasing optional in-app features which provide extra analytics data and help you promote your page online.

ManageFlitter

ManageFlitter is a web-based system that makes it fast and easy to manage multiple Twitter accounts. You can curate Tweets in advance and schedule them to go out at the best times for maximising engagement with your target audience. In addition, you can use it to track your performance and gain insights into your Twitter landscape.

The Pro package, priced at $12 a month, is ideal for smaller businesses and offers a range of useful features such as Account Cleanup, Account Search, Account Analytics and PowerPost.
